CAPF Written exam: exam pattern
Two papers on the same day. Paper II is evaluated only for candidates who clear the Paper I cut-off.
- Paper I: General Ability and Intelligence: 250 marks, objective, 2 hours. Mental ability, general science, current events, Indian polity and economy, history of India, Indian and world geography.
- Paper II: General Studies, Essay and Comprehension: 200 marks, descriptive, 3 hours. Essays, comprehension, précis and language skills.

How the mocks are marked
Each correct answer earns 2 marks and each wrong answer costs 0.66, the one-third penalty of the 125-question, 120-minute Paper I (250 marks). Unanswered questions score zero. Every mock is timed at 0.96 minutes a question, the pace of the real paper.
